3-Day Sahara Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

Day 1: Marrakech → Atlas Mountains → Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Valley

Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your Marrakech hotel or riad. We travel across the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260m). We'll make stops for breathtaking views and photos. Our first major visit is the UNESCO World Heritage site, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning fortified village that has been the backdrop for many Hollywood movies. After lunch, we continue towards the Dades Valley, passing through Ouarzazate and the immense palm grove of Skoura. You'll spend the night in a hotel in the heart of the Dades Gorges.

Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorges → Erfoud → Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we drive through the valley to see the "monkey fingers" rock formations. We'll then head to the Todra Gorges, a massive fault with towering 300m high red cliffs. You can take a short walk through the gorges before we continue our journey to the Sahara. We will pass through Erfoud, the capital of fossils, before arriving at the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. Here, you'll trade your vehicle for a camel and trek into the golden dunes to your luxury desert camp. Enjoy a spectacular sunset, a traditional Moroccan dinner, and an evening of Berber music under a canopy of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga → Ouarzazate → Atlas Mountains → Marrakech

Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, you'll ride your camel back to the village of Merzouga. From there, we begin our return journey to Marrakech. We'll travel back through the Draa Valley with its millions of palm trees, Ouarzazate, and cross the High Atlas Mountains again. We will drop you off at your accommodation in Marrakech in the early evening, concluding your unforgettable desert tour.
